States plead for volunteers, blood donations

Several governors have issued pleas for providers – including retirees and those in residency – to volunteer to assist during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are able to assist and interested in volunteering, view this list of states requesting assistance and information on programs collecting provider information.

In addition, the pandemic has limited blood drives, and there is concern about potential shortages of blood, platelets and AB Elite plasma. Healthy donors are encouraged to book an appointment through the Red Cross to ensure a stable supply throughout the pandemic.
