Meeting Overview
Advocating for the Specialty: Day on the Hill – March 17 to 18Day on the Hill provides members with the opportunity to learn about federal healthcare policy, experience the federal legislative process first-hand, build relationships with members of Congress and staff as well as network with AAOMS leaders.
Funding opportunities are available for fellows, members and residents alike. AAOMS offers complimentary round-trip airfare and one night of hotel accommodation to a limited number of fellows and members who haven’t attended an in-person Day on the Hill in the past five years. If you qualify, the AAOMS Government Affairs Department will contact you via email within three business days of your registration to confirm you received a funding spot.
Resident members may apply for one of six OMSPAC-sponsored scholarships. The application deadline for resident scholarships is Feb. 1, and recipients will be announced by Feb. 6.
Don’t miss the opportunity to influence federal policymakers, explain how federal legislation and regulation impacts your practice and patients and be a voice for the specialty.
No political or advocacy experience is necessary. AAOMS welcomes first-time attendees and will ensure all are effectively prepared for their congressional meetings.
