Masters Coding and Reimbursement Workshop

AAOMS fellows/members and coding professionals will participate in an advanced coding, billing and reimbursement training program using real OMS case examples. To allow AAOMS to customize the content for attendees, registrants may submit questions in advance to be answered and reviewed during the workshop. Course materials may include coding, deidentified operative reports, chart documentation, claims and/or EOBs. The workshop is structured to allow time for group discussion.

Registration

Registration for the June 2025 workshop will open in late 2024.

Due to limited seating, registration for the Masters Coding and Reimbursement workshop is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close 30 days prior to the event to allow time to customize the workshop.

Course Prerequisite

  • To be eligible, participants must have completed one of the following: Beyond the Basics Coding Workshop (in-person or online), the AAOMS Coding Certificate Program (CCP) or have five years of experience working with complex medical and dental coding and billing in an OMS practice. This course is not designed for those new to coding or with minimal coding knowledge.  
  • Participants may submit claims, EOBs and/or narratives/operative reports in advance to customize the workshop. The number of questions or cases addressed in the workshop is dependent on the volume received. Note: To remain HIPAA compliant, it is mandatory that all PHI be removed prior to submission.

  • Each Masters Coding and Reimbursement Workshop will be limited to 20 attendees. Due to limited seating, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Registration will close 30 days prior to the scheduled event to allow time to customize the course agenda.
  • Registration fee includes breakfast and lunch to be provided by AAOMS. The sponsoring AAOMS member will be responsible for all travel expenses and non-AAOMS covered meals.
  • AAOMS allied staff member pricing is available only to AAOMS fellows’ and members’ staff who have applied and been approved for AAOMS Allied Staff membership. Registration rates are based on the registrant’s membership status. Memberships are individual.
  • If you are employed by an AAOMS member and have not joined the AAOMS allied staff membership, you must select the “non-member staff of an AAOMS member” pricing.
  • AAOMS will have spare coding books onsite for attendee use. However, attendees are encouraged to bring their own coding manuals (current CPT/CDT, ICD-10) or tablet if they are an EncoderPro user or utilize other online coding material, especially if one has made personal notes in the margins.
  • If attendees opt to submit questions or case examples, the intake form provided upon registration must be completed and returned to AAOMS in advance of the workshop. Case examples may include deidentified operative reports, narratives, claim forms and EOBs. The number of questions or cases addressed in the workshop is dependent on the volume received.
  • Please do not make hotel or travel reservations until you have received written confirmation of your course registration.

CE Credit

The Masters Coding and Reimbursement Workshop is eligible for 6.0 hours of continuing education credit. A certificate of continuing education will be available upon completion of a course evaluation. To claim your certificate of continuing education, visit AAOMS.org/MyCE and select 2025 Masters Coding and Reimbursement Workshop. Click login at the top-right of the screen. Log in with your email and eight-digit member/registration ID. Select Claim CE and Print Transcript located on the left side of navigation menu.

Cancellation Policy

A $200 cancellation fee will be applied if written cancellation is received more than 21 days prior to a scheduled Masters Coding and Reimbursement Workshop. The entire registration fee will be forfeited if a written cancellation is received less than 21 days in advance. A registrant may be substituted with another equally qualified coding professional from the same practice.

There are a number of hotels in the area, including Hilton, Hyatt, Loews and Westin properties. AAOMS has negotiated a discounted hotel rate at the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O’Hare. Rooms are not being held for AAOMS and are solely based on availability. Please be sure to check arrival and departure dates when booking a room.
