The Washington Medical Commission (WMC) revised a rule governing postgraduate medical training criteria for obtaining medical licensure. Initially proposed to assist foreign-trained physicians, the amendment also benefits dual-degree OMS who have completed six years of postgraduate training to obtain licenses in both medicine and dentistry. Previously, Washington state had frequently scrutinized out-of-state OMS dual-degree residents’ qualifications, particularly focusing on the quantity of ACGME credits and the extent of ACGME training completed post-medical degree attainment.
Questions should be directed to the WMC.
