Input sought on anticompetitive healthcare practices

The Justice Department (DOJ), Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and HHS on April 18 unveiled a platform for individuals to report healthcare practices that may harm competition. The newly launched online portal, HealthyCompetition.gov, provides the public with the opportunity to confidentially report potentially unjust and anti-competitive healthcare practices directly to the DOJ’s Antitrust Division and the FTC. The complaints will be reviewed by staff at the FTC and the DOJ Antitrust Division and be subjected to further investigation if they have merit, possibly leading to formal investigations. The portal is the latest initiative advanced by the FTC, DOJ and HHS following a December 2023 joint request for information seeking input on how private equity and corporate control of healthcare is affecting the public.
