The National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) is developing a model bill to limit facility fees for certain hospital and ambulatory surgical center (ASC) procedures. While AAOMS reviewed the draft and found no significant concerns, the Association submitted a letter to ensure the legislation does not inadvertently impact OMSs.
AAOMS highlighted ongoing challenges OMSs face in securing hospital operating room access for complex dental procedures, emphasizing the importance of the HCPCS G0330 code, which helps ensure appropriate reimbursement for dental cases requiring hospital- or ASC-based care. AAOMS urged NCOIL to consider these factors to avoid unintended consequences that could undermine prior advocacy efforts.
