Antitrust Reform
Antitrust laws are designed to protect and foster competition in a given marketplace. AAOMS supports legislation to amend the McCarran-Ferguson Act to remove the exemption of health insurers from federal antitrust laws, which would increase competition in the health insurance marketplace and drive health plans to compete more aggressively for purchasers, creating policies with low premiums yet robust benefits.
