VA to follow HHS rules on NPDB

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has finalized, without changes, a proposed rule to eliminate its own regulations concerning the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) that tracks adverse actions and malpractice payments related to healthcare providers. Moving forward, the VA will adhere to the NPDB regulations established by HHS, along with an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two agencies and the VA’s internal policies and procedures.
