The Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CSOMS) successfully advocated for the inclusion of new language in the Colorado Dental Board’s sunset review (SB 25-194), aimed at enhancing patient safety in itinerant surgery. This new provision, developed through thoughtful collaboration with stakeholders, clarifies expectations for postoperative care and emphasizes the importance of ensuring patients have access to appropriate follow-up.
Additionally, CSOMS secured a permanent OMS position on the Colorado Dental Board, effective July 1, 2031.
