Regarded as one of the nation’s leading authorities on U.S. elections and political trends, Charlie Cook started The Cook Political Report, an independent, nonpartisan newsletter, serving as Editor and Publisher until August 2021. He writes a weekly column for National Journal and is a political analyst for the publication. He also is a co-author of the 2020, 2022 and 2024 editions of The Almanac of American Politics. In addition to appearances on ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, NBC’s Meet the Press and other leading news programs, he served as an Election Night analyst for CBS and CNN. In 2010, he was the co-recipient of the American Political Science Association’s Carey McWilliams Award to honor “a major journalistic contribution to our understanding of politics.” In 2013, he served as a Resident Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School.

Capitol Hill
Participants take their own transportation to and from the hotel and Capitol Hill and may depart for home any time after their appointments are completed. Congressional appointments can be scheduled as late as 3 p.m. As such, an evening flight home is recommended. Congressional schedules will become available no later than Friday, March 21, but are subject to change up to, and including, the day of the event.
