Inactive Fellow and Member

An inactive fellow, member or affiliate member is an individual who derives no income from the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Active practice is the performance of any activities requiring licensure or permit in dentistry or medicine in the state or OMS specialty licensure, where applicable. An inactive fellow or member shall not have the privileges of a member, except that he/she may retain membership. Years in inactive status will not accrue toward life or retired fellowship/membership.

An inactive fellow or member shall pay no dues and assessments, may receive the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery only by personal paid subscription, and may attend the annual meeting or winter conference at the non-member registration fee. An inactive fellow or member may pay a voluntary maintenance fee to be established annually by the Board of Trustees in order to receive any AAOMS mailings.

An inactive fellow or member may be considered for reinstatement to active membership upon filing a written request and payment of current year’s dues and assessments.
